Farewell, Richie Diver
Maverick’s bass player, Richie Diver, has decided to part ways with the band after 12 years, hanging up his four string.
PSA from Richie.
Hey everyone,
I hope you've all had a great weekend, and have got your tickets sorted for next year's Wildfest.
I really hope you do have your tickets, because next year's final edition of Wildest, will be one of my final Maverick shows, as I have decided my time with Maverick has come to an end.
It is a decision I have made some time ago, and I was waiting for the right time, but really, when is the right time? I was always hoping for one last run of shows to say goodbye to many of you in person, to share some final beers and create some more everlasting memories, and it looks like we will have that next May.
It has been a wild ride these last 12 years, and I am very lucky to have been able to share so many experiences with you all. To grace so many stages across Europe & to have blown the roof of said venues (sorry about that, please send the bill to maverickbelfast@live.com), to have played with so many great bands, there are too many to name, but I gotta drop a personal highlight; @dreamevilband at the @ice_rock_festival '19, and to have made friendships that will last.
To the guys in the band, we had some great times together, a lot of memories were made, and then forgotten. Excessive quantities of beer were consumed, and many laughs were had, leading me to have laugh lines across my face. Also, we made some great music along the way!
I wish them all the success for the future, and I know, you'll all support them with as much vigour as you have over the years, because without you, the fans, all this is for naught. You were the reason that we continued to do what we did, and the reason I stayed for as long as I did, because I will miss you all terribly. You've left an impression on my heart, that won't soon fade,
Much love & adieu,
Richie x
